About Me
Over the years, I've found I have a knack for collecting great recipes, which I love sharing because I love food and cooking! Am I in any way an expert? Well... No. BUT I do cook, and I do eat, and I feel I do both rather well. (Particularly the eating part!)
In real life, I am mommy and a happy housewife just singin' in the Portland rain. I like to read good books, watch old movies, hunt for vintage bargains at thrift stores, and kick butt at board games. While I love to entertain and get together with friends, I'm also a bit of a home body. My favorite foods include: brownies, the teeny tiny pancakes that get made accidentally when you drip batter on the griddle, chocolate-covered anything and everything, chili with a side of cornbread, pasta pasta pasta, a good turkey sandwich (and if it has bacon, so much the better), perfectly over-medium fried eggs, and ice cream, always ice cream.

What you'll find here: Yummy recipes -- some complicated and some not (but most of it easy because I'm lazy like that) -- that I make in my humble home kitchen, lots of baking, kitchen tips and tricks that make my life easier, and the occasional restaurant review. We eat lots of vegetarian meals, so there's lots of that here, too. Oh, and pasta. We eat-a lots-a pasta.
Why the goofy name? Well... Kitten was my husband's pet name for me when we were first married, which was when I started this blog. I thought that using my first name, Kristyn, would just result in people being unable to find the site, as even some of my closest friends (and family!) can't spell my name correctly. My mom thinks it sounds a little like a burlesque-meets-cooking show, but it's too late to change it now. And so, it stays.
I designed the site myself, so feedback on its functionality is always much appreciated. Please, please, please let me know if something isn't working correctly! Credit for the chevron background goes to tinysea.
